Maintenance Mechanic I or II

Position Objectives:
The Maintenance Mechanic position performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment in the wastewater collection system, wastewater treatment plant, and water distribution system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Routine pump station maintenance
- Instrumentation maintenance and repair
- Operates vactor, crane, and boom trucks; operates pump stations; uses hand and power tools
- Rehabilitation/conversion of pump stations
- Pump station monitoring and controls via the SCADA system
- Other duties include building maintenance, operation of heavy equipment, wetwell vactoring, and record keeping
- Maintenance Mechanics and Electrician/Mechanics participate in a weekly on-call emergency duty rotation approximately every 6 weeks.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants are required to have a High School diploma or GED equivalent and a valid SC driver’s license.
Desirable Training and Experience:
- Experience in mechanical maintenance and repairs
- Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools
- Experience with a variety of pump types and motors
- A South Carolina Wastewater Collections Operator license
- A South Carolina CDL Class B
