Maintenance Mechanic

Position Objectives:

Summerville CPW is seeking a qualified candidate for a Maintenance Mechanic job opening.  The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment in the wastewater collection system, wastewater treatment plant, and water distribution system. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Routine pump station maintenance
• Instrumentation maintenance and repair
• Rehabilitation/conversion of pump stations
• Pump station monitoring and controls via the SCADA system
• Other duties include building maintenance, operation of heavy equipment, wetwell vactoring, and record keeping
• Maintenance Mechanics and Electrician/Mechanics participate in a week long on-call emergency duty rotation; rotating approximately every six weeks.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants are required to have a High School diploma or GED equivalent and a valid SC driver’s license.

Desirable Training and Experience:

• Experience in mechanical maintenance and repairs
• Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools
• Experience with a variety of pump types and motors
• A South Carolina Wastewater Collections Operator license
